One of the most talked-about new car introductions of the Eighties was the two-seat, mid-engine 1984 Pontiac Fiero.
An innovative space-frame design that wore plastic body panels, the Fiero was a fuel-efficient sports car that was perfect for the times and quickly captured the public’s attention back when Pontiac really did Build Excitement. All ’84 Fieros were powered by a mild-mannered “Iron Duke” four, but the high-performance Fiero GT that debuted for 1985 added a gutsier multi-port-injected 2.8-liter V-6 and a special aero kit for the body. The latter was borrowed almost intact from the race-prepared ’84 Fiero that served as the pace car for that year’s Indianapolis 500. This easy-to-build 1/24-scale Revell kit carefully replicates the ’85 Fiero GT that Pontiac boastfully described as “More show. More go. More wing. More zing.”
