These axles are precision machined on a Swiss C.N.C Turning Center for watch-maker type precision from high quality 303 chromium-nickel stainless steel (that is magnetic) and then custom media polished for a slick / non-directional finish. They feature a oversized .093″ bearing surface with precision placed friction reducing grooves for the Ultimate wheel hub to axle fitment, superior wheel stability and unmatched speed. The Main shaft is then reduced to a standard axle size .088″ so the Vipers’s will work with the slots found in all brands of Pinewood Derby Kits or with both the Derby Worx Pro Body Tool & Pro Body Jig for an excellent alignment! VIPER Derby Worx recommends either our “Pro Rail Rider Tool” or “Pro Axle Bender” for finishing tuning to a Rail Rider® alignment for maximum speed and performance.
